In the mind of Peruvian born DJ/ Producer Luis Valencia, it was growing
up in the happening Los Angeles club scene of the 1990’s that ignited his
passion for electronic music. The culmination of those experiences in L.A.
coupled with an insatiable thirst for cutting edge music, led him to try his
hand at the art of DJ’ing and gave birth to his musical career.
Long after picking it up in California, Luis took his craft east to the
international hub known as Atlanta, GA. It was there, in 1997, that he
began to skillfully craft his techniques at numerous mega clubs and
venues throughout the city and at various Liquified events. Luis elevated
his popularity as well as his fan base by securing a position as the
resident DJ for weekly standard called MINT, hosted at The Mark
Ultralounge and working with talent such as Steve Porter and Pete “The
Shaker” Bones.
Fast forward to 2009, and his most recent project involves a talented
collaboration of local artists collectively known as SPEKTRUM, and can be
experienced every 4th Friday at the newly launched Filter Nightclub.
There he can be found playing his unique and edgy live DJ sets that have
recently been described as a, “futuristic and funky journey through the
very now in electronica.”
His sound is highly technical, yet it remains organic and fluid giving
credence to his own personal brand of beautifully delicate melodies
layered through deep, driving techno and progressive beats. Luis’ great
passion for forward thinking music emanates as he consistently delivers
sets that are exciting, intelligent and memorable. Some of his most
notable performances include warming the decks for world-class acts
such as Steve Lawler, Dave Seaman, Paul Van Dyk, Desyn Masiello,
Anthony Pappa, Kazell and most recently Tiesto, which took place in
front of a capacity-crowd of over 3,000 music lovers.
Now, with well over a decade of experience under his belt, the natural
evolution from DJ to Producer has taken hold. You can find his latest
releases out on Beatport and Trackitdown, and on the underground
BadbwoyBass record label. Never satisfied with resting on current
